RESEARCH
Holder of a doctoral thesis in Cognitive Psychology defended in 2019 at the University of Paris 8, I am currently full Professor (University of Paris-Est Créteil) at INSPE within the Cognitive Sciences and Education team. My research themes are digital reading , the impact of emotions on school learning and cognitive engagement . More generally, I study the postural and oculometric metrics underlying the cognitive processes at work during learning.
The study of cognition can be understood in an embodied or situated manner. This approach places the body as a stakeholder in cognition. The objective of my research is to analyze the involvement of the body during silent reading and to show how the movements of the human body can account for the cognitive processes underlying engagement during digital reading. I also study the influence of emotions in school learning such as reading, text comprehension or mathematical problem solving.
My research attempts to set up original experimental protocols associated with innovative statistical analyses with the aim of bringing out metrics likely to underpin the cognitive processes studied during learning.
